"Court is insult to Kosovo, but vote to establish it"

Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has called on members of the Kosovo assembly to vote in favor of establishing a special court for war crimes.

"Court is insult to Kosovo, but vote to establish it"

Thaci urged the assembly to do so even though, as he said, it was "completely unjustified and an insult to Kosovo."

"Whenever the presidency proposes it to the assembly, political parties will be present at the meeting and will consider all options to give an adequate, appropriate and responsible response, in line with the interest of the citizens and in cooperation with the United States and the European Union," Thaci was quoted as saying during a visit to a factory in Kosovo Polje on Thursday.

According to Albanian language media in Priština, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton has confirmed that she received a letter sent by Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga proposing the establishment of the Special Court and extension of the mandate of EULEX until May 2016.
