Higher taxes for state officials "won't be effective"

According to him, should public sector salaries be cut "it is only fair that politicians pay the most." However, added Orbović, "it should be seen which officials would be taxed, and whether this tax will also be paid by local officials."

Orbović also announced that the working group set up to draft the Labor Law will next week "present the results it has arrived to."

He said that negotiations focused on amendments to the law regarding collective bargaining, minimum wages, and reasons for dismissal, and "expressed his conviction that those issues had been agreed on between the government, unions, and employers."
