Mali or Selaković to be appointed Belgrade mayor

"The new mayor of Belgrade will be Siniša Mali, the current current President of the Provisional Organ in the capital, or Nikola Selaković, justice minister in the technical mandate," the daily Politika quoted Vučić as saying.

According to the newspaper, "the decision on who will lead the team that will the next four years manage the capital will be known no later than in ten days."

According to this, Goran Vesić is most likely to be named as "city manager," while other members of the executive authority will be determined later.

The mayor is chosen by the city assembly, which is set to hold its inaugural session on April 23.

Early local elections were held in Belgrade on March 16, with the Progressives (SNS) winning a majority of seats in the assembly.
