Aleksandar Vučić congratulated Hungarian PM Viktor Orban on the landslide victory of his Fidesz party in Hungary's parliamentary elections on Sunday.

Vučić congratulates Orban on "commanding victory"

The trust that the citizens placed in the ruling parties is a huge commitment and responsibility, he added.

“Relations between Serbia and Hungary are improving and I am confident that the cooperation will continue to develop to our mutual benefit and in the interest of peace and stability in the region. Seeing things in that light, I think it is of particular importance for us the hold the planned joint session of the two governments as soon as possible,” Vučić said in his congratulatory message to Orban.

With 96.92 percent of the votes counted, Fidesz is on course to win 44.31 percent of the vote or 133 seats in the 199-seat parliament.
