NDS official says he's "in contact with Vučić"

NDS official says he's "in contact with Vučić"

"On March 16 it will be known who made the right decision and who was wrong”, Rakić, described as "a man who enjoys the greatest confidence of NDS leader Boris Tadić," told the daily Kurir.

During the time when Tadić was the president of Serbia, Rakić was "virtually the only person from his surroundings who had regular contacts with current SNS leader Aleksandar Vučić," the article noted.

At the time, Rakić was the coordinator of all security services, the position now held by Vučić. Good relations between Vučić and Rakić contribute to speculation that the SNS had "encouraged" Tadić and his followers to leave the DS and form a new party.

Asked whether he "saw the NDS in the same government with the SNS," Rakić replied:

“We are prepared to discuss necessary reforms with everyone. If we manage to agree with other parties on that which is necessary to be done I can see the NDS in government. Otherwise, we will be in the opposition.”

Rakić then said that he had not "discussed" this with Vučić.

Asked whether he was in contact with DS leader Dragan Đilashe replied negatively, but confirmed he was "in contact" with Vučić.
