Tadić confident new party will do better than DS

Tadić commented on the "City on the Water" project to say it was "a good idea but, as an unrealistic campaign promise, it's more an example of media manipulation than a plan for the near future."

Tadić dismissed as "nonsense" assessments that he is a puppet of the leader of the Progressives (SNS), Aleksandar Vučić.

"One has to be very politically stupid to assign the puppet role to me. I confronted much more powerful heads of major political forces than is the currently most influential politician in Serbia," said the former president.

Tadić added that he and his new party "will win more votes than the Democratic Party, led by Dragan Đilas."

He pointed out that the NDS "would not be able" to participate in a government together with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) led by Ivica Dači.

This is because "there's no longer any use of the SPS today, while the damage is apparent."
