Boris Tadić has said that he would consider it "a good election result" if it ensured that his party's policy became part of the government policy.

Tadić wants his party's policy "to be part of govt. policy"

"Achieving a winning result and joining the government would be good, but I am also fully prepared for us to be in the opposition, because in these circumstances, the opposition is not good, but the government is bad, too. For this reason, I am deeply convinced that we as a political list really are the only alternative to both groups," Tadić said in an interview with Tanjug.

He explained that the electoral list that he is leading will fight for the trust of every citizen, but that it will primarily strive to activate voters who intend to stay at home on election day.

"Today there are nearly one million citizens who used to turn out in elections and who, until just a month ago, believed that they will not be turning out. I believe that, in the wake of our decision to run in the elections with clear ideas and a vision for the future, they will turn out in these elections. I particularly call on those who have voted for our lists in the past to turn out in the elections once again and place their trust in us," Tadić said.

Tadić added that a blank ballot is actually a vote for the party that wins the most votes, adding that those who promoted this type of boycott in the previous elections actually deceived the citizens, because there is no non-voting in democracy.

"Due to the principle according to which ballots are accounted for, even those who fail to turn out actually vote for the one who wins the most votes, and that is something the citizens need to know.

It is very important that citizens take part in elections and participate in democracy, but also make decisions that are important for their living standard, since those who do not vote or cast blank ballots cannot complain", Tadić stressed.

In the electoral campaign, I will criticize everything that is not good in Serbia, Tadić said, adding that his electoral list has a clear economic agenda.

"It is not possible to develop Serbia's economy just by arresting tycoons," the former president said, noting that the economy can be developed by activating foreign capital.

A clear difference must be made between those who are breaking the law and representing big capital and those who abide by the law and develop Serbia at the same time, he said.

"We must activate development of family enterprises and calculate what incentives and subsidies are beneficial to the industry and to job creation," Tadić said.

"Bringing Fiat to Serbia is not enough, we need four or five such companies, but even that will be insufficient if we fail to activate the internal capacities and resources of the citizens themselves," he said.

Agriculture is definitely a huge development resource for Serbia, but it must be based on high technology and cannot exist without foreign partners, such as, potentially, the Netherlands, Tadić said.
