BELGRADE Eduard Kukan, head of the EP delegation for relations with Serbia Eduard Kukan estimates that it will take the country "at least eight years to join the EU." Asked whether early elections will slow down Serbia's progress toward the EU, Kukan said that elections are an internal issue of Serbia, adding that all efforts should be aimed continuing the successful EU integration process. "It is important that the internal political situation does not have an adverse effect on the good results that this government has achieved on the EU path.
