A majority of Macedonian citizens who took part in a recent public opinion poll have identified Turkey as their country's "best friend."

SKOPJE A majority of Macedonian citizens who took part in a recent public opinion poll have identified Turkey as their country's "best friend." According to the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti, the question was, "which country is favorable towards Macedonia with most friendship," and 16 percent of respondents said Turkey, followed by Serbia (12.2 percent.) Poll finds Macedonia's "best friend" to be Turkey The United States and Germany are also on the list with 8.2 percent each, followed by Albania (5.8 percent.)
