BELGRADE Aleksandar Vulin conferred in Belgrade with representatives of the electoral list of the Citizens' Initiative Srpska from six municipalities south of the Ibar. They will be running for in local elections in the second round on December 1. Vulin: Pristina trying to prevent constitution of ZSO The meeting was not held in Strpce as the biggest Serb enclave in southern Kosovo and Metohija as previously planned because the Pristina government did not allow the inister without portfolio in charge of Kosovo to visit the province although he filed the request to EULEX on time. This shows that Pristina is afraid the Srpska list may win in the elections and it is trying to prevent the constitution of the Community of Serb municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo and Metohija, Vulin told reporters after the meeting. "Pristina is trying to prevent the constitution of the Serb majority in municipalities to the south of the Ibar River because it knows that ZSO cannot be set up without the Serb majority in the municipalities," the minister said. Vulin recalled that the Citizens' Initiative Srpska backed by the Serbian government won the polls in northern Kosovo and it now remains for the list to win in the six municipalities to the south of the Ibar River so that ZSO could be set up. Vulin recalled that the Kosovo government "released it would back the candidates of the Alliance of Kosovo Serbs and the Independent Liberal Party in the second round of the local elections in four municipalities to the south of the Ibar River." He noted that Pristina is trying to refute the right of the Serbian government to support the Citizens' Initiative Srpska as the list it believes to be the guarantee of preservation of Serb interests in Kosovo-Metohija. He said that he would call on representatives of the international community to explain why the electoral materials were taken from the electoral stations in northern Kosovska Mitrovica to Kosovo Polje to be counted. Vulin also stated that this "must not happen again in the second round of elections because it would give ground to suspicions concerning the final election results." (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
