BELGRADE Aleksandar Vucic has announced that the state will "deal with all those who are selling drugs and threatening the security at public events." But the first deputy prime minister and head of the Bureau for Coordination of Security Services noted that "there will be no witch hunt." Security services coordination bureau meets Vucic spoke after the Bureau held a meeting in Belgrade on Friday, where one of the topics was the problem of hooliganism in stadiums, and said that two new offices would be set up - one to fight against extremism and terrorism, and another "for the fight against drug dealers." He announced a new session of the Bureau for next Tuesday, and said: "The fight will be merciless, aimed against criminals, and will be one of the most extensive in the history of Serbia. There will be no witch hunt, fans will not be persecuted, but criminals and those who deal drugs. The citizens will be satisfied with the results. All those who think it's possible to play with the state will be clear that they are not right." Vucic stressed that "since the launching of action against Darko Saric's clan prices fell on the narcotics market," and admitted that the government "has not dealt with the issue." Vucic said that 400 officers of the Belgrade police are currently providing security "to a variety of people," while at the same time, almost ten times fewer are tasked with combating drug trafficking. "The state is not a security service," he noted. One of the main topics discussed during the meeting were developments related to the local elections in Kosovo. Vucic said that the participants discussed "what the government can do to protect the electoral, and all other constitutionally guaranteed rights of its citizens." Because of incidents in northern Kosovska Mitrovica and violation of the rights of citizens, it was announced that criminal and minor charges would be filed against "all those responsible."
