PEC Aleksandar Vulin says "the rumors about the reduction of the international community's mandate in Kosovo constitute a reason for concern." The Serbian government "is against such moves," the minister without portfolio in charge of Kosovo and Metohija said at the Patriarchate of Pec on Monday. Serbia opposed to "reduction of mandate" Vulin expressed concern over the announcements of cuts in the number of soldiers of the international forces "at the most holy sites which were targeted by violence and constant attacks and other expressions of hatred." The rumors about the reduction of EULEX troops in the south and the reduction of the international community's mandate are very worrying, Vulin said and added that Belgrade is against such moves. He underscored that EULEX came to the area in keeping with the decision of the UN Security Council and only by the will of the UN Security Council can this be changed. “Potential change in the mandate of EULEX is not an issue Pristina can unilaterally decide on, this is a matter on which decision can be made only by the body in keeping with whose will EULEX came to the area in the first place,” Vulin said.
