KOSOVSKA MITROVICA Nobody was injured in a strong explosion that occurred at around 03:45 CET on Monday in northern Kosovska Mitrovica. The blast, however, caused considerable damage. Strong explosion in northern Kosovska Mitrovica Beta is reporting that a bomb exploded in the apartment of Nebojsa Maric, an employee of the Income Administration, and that the motive is still unknown. Tanjug reported that the explosive device was placed on the window of an apartment on the ground floor of a building in the center of Kosovska Mitrovica. The explosion caused extensive property damage to the BB Hotel located next door, and on one vehicle, which was parked nearby. The Kosovo police (KPS) arrived at the scene first, followed by EULEX police and KFOR soldiers. The police officials did not comment on the latest incident and possible motives for the attack. The director of Pristina's administrative office in the town, Adrijana Hodzic, in the meantime strongly condemned the incident that took place early this morning. Hodzic, a candidate for mayor in the November 3 elections, said in a statement that this and similar incidents were directed against the peace and stability of all the citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica and called on the Kosovo police and EULEX to do everything to make sure they do not repeat in the future.
