BUDAPEST Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic said at the end of his first official visit to Hungary there were no problems in Serba's relations with Hungary. This, he said, includes any issues regarding national minorities. FM: No problems in relations with Hungary Mrkic met on Monday with officials of the Serbs living in Hungary and stated that the meetings with Hungarian officials had been cordial and friendly and that he was impressed by the openness and constructive attitude of Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi. Things would probably not be like that had the two countries' presidents not met back in June and made "a historic move," bringing symbolic and real reconciliation when both sides looked to the period during and after the Second World War, he noted. One of the main topics in the meetings with Orban and Martonyi was Serbia's EU integration, which is supported by Hungary. Mrkic informed the Hungarian officials about the situation in Kosovo. "Serbia and Hungary have many joint projects, he pointed out. There were discussions concerning the construction of a railroad from Belgrade to Budapest, introduction of an air link between the two cities, establishment of new border crossings and about opening a Hungarian cultural centre in Belgrade and a Serbian in Budapest," he remarked. The two prime ministers will meet in Bucharest in November, and Martonyi is going to visit Belgrade, said Mrkic. As for the Serb minority in Hungary, Mrkic advocates the same rights for them as for the other minorities in the country, adding that the same goes for the Hungarian minority in Serbia.
