The talks with the EU on Chapter 24 will round off the discussion of rule of law in Serbia, Belgrade's chief negotiator Tanja Miščević said on Thursday.

BRUSSELS The talks with the EU on Chapter 24 will round off the discussion of rule of law in Serbia, Belgrade's chief negotiator Tanja Miscevic said on Thursday. “The talks will continue next week,” she told reporters during a break of the second day of the screening on issues concerning justice, freedom and security which began in the EU seat on Wednesday. Negotiatior: Talks on rule of law to round off As the head of the Serbian delegation in Brussels together with Minister without portfolio in charge of European integration Branko Ruzic, Miscevic noted that Chapter 24 is also connected to Chapter 23 on the judiciary and human rights which was discussed in the previous round of talks. “This practically rounds off the talks on rule of law in Serbia,” Miscevic said. The main topics of the Thursday talks with European experts covered the fight against terrorism, exchange of information and countering human trafficking, she noted. The colleagues in charge of the issues had a lot of questions concerning the procedures in certain EU member countries, Miscevic said. She noted that the course of the screening was followed via direct video link in the Serbian parliament. “We had a lot of questions from Belgrade on Wednesday and Thursday, which shows that the topic is vital and interesting both for the NGO sector and the colleagues which were not with us in Brussels,” she said.
