VRSAC The French organization Solidarity for Kosovo has organized a humanitarian convoy delivering 25 cubic meters of new clothes worth more than 76,000 euros. For the first time donations arrived at the Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases Dr. Slavoljub Bakalovic in Vrsac, northeastern Serbia, and will be distributed to ten specialized institutions. French humanitarians deliver donation to hospital Arnaud Gouillon, the founder of the organization, said they had more contacts each day looking for donations from companies. "This kind of work requires a lot of patience and persistence, but when they hear what the goal of Solidarity for Kosovo is, the answers are sometimes unexpected, and our efforts are more than rewarded." A while back an exclusive partnership was established with a well-known French company that sells women's clothes. Thus, Solidarity for Kosovo received a large amount of new clothes for women, exceeding the needs the organization noted in Kosovo. They then had to decide to either return the excess and valuable donation to the sponsor, or send the goods where they were needed. "Without hesitation, we have opted for the second solution and offered our assistance to Serbian institutions", says Arno Gouillon. With the help of Veran Matic and the B92 Fund in collecting and relaying the information about where the donation was needed, and in consultation with the Ministry of Health, it was decided to send the clothes to specialized hospitals Serbia. Women's clothing in these hospitals is badly needed, as they are currently treating more than 1,600 patients. Solidarity for Kosovo has over 6,000 donors from all over France and around 30 volunteers. In 2012, they provided six humanitarian aid convoys, vacations in Montenegro for 40 Serb children from Kosovo and Metohija, and renovation of the elementary school in the village of Straza, near Gnjilane. Solidarity for Kosovo also fund the humanitarian office with the SPC Diocese of Raska and Prizren in Gracanica, from which they receive accurate information about the situation and the number of most vulnerable Serb households in Kosovo and Metohija. Arnaud Gouillon was awarded the King Stefan of Decani medal last year, while the Novosti media company presented him with a special plaque in their "Noblest Achievement of the Year" campaign.
