Five more arrested in Galenika corruption case

Five persons have been arrested as part of operations to combat corruption in the country, it has been announced in Belgrade.

BELGRADE Five persons have been arrested as part of operations to combat corruption in the country, it has been announced in Belgrade. The arrests were carried out by the Criminal Investigation Police Department, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime, "and the tax police sector," Tanjug reported. Five more arrested in Galenika corruption case Criminal charges will be filed for abuse of power and money laundering against the five persons and one who has been arrested earlier. Police arrested Mladen Gazikalovic (55), owner and manager in the following companies: B.G. PHARM, MG Remedy Group, Ackrobiotica, and Zdravstvena ustanova – Apoteka Hygia Pharm with headquarters in Belgrade, the Crime investigation police department said in a release. Police also arrested Dragan Sebrek (55), former assistant general manager at Galenika, and Milica Mirkovic (42), deputy general manager at B.G. PHARM. Also arrested were MG Remedy Group General Manager Dragan Sutic (41), and Miroslav Jovic (54), official at Zdravstvena ustanova – Apoteka Hygia Pharm. Former Galenika General Manager Nenad Ognjenovic (59) was placed in detention earlier. Criminal charges will be filed for abuse of power and money laundering against the five persons and one who has been arrested earlier.

Police arrested Mladen Gazikalović (55), owner and manager in the following companies: B.G. PHARM, MG Remedy Group, Ackrobiotica, and Zdravstvena ustanova – Apoteka Hygia Pharm with headquarters in Belgrade, the Crime investigation police department said in a release.

Police also arrested Dragan Sebrek (55), former assistant general manager at Galenika, and Milica Mirković (42), deputy general manager at B.G. PHARM.

Also arrested were MG Remedy Group General Manager Dragan Šutic (41), and Miroslav Jović (54), official at Zdravstvena ustanova – Apoteka Hygia Pharm.

Former Galenika General Manager Nenad Ognjenović (59) was placed in detention earlier.

The police operation to solve all crimes involving management and other officials of the pharmaceutical company "is still underway," the release said.
