Wheat yields 40 percent more than last year

Serbia's wheat yield projection for 2013 is 2.7 million tons, up 40.2 percent against the year before, the Statistical Office (RZS) has said.

BELGRADE Serbia's wheat yield projection for 2013 is 2.7 million tons, up 40.2 percent against the year before, the Statistical Office (RZS) has said. Wheat production is up 36.3 percent against a ten-year average (2003-2012). Wheat yields 40 percent more than last year Year-on-year, the July 31 late crop yield projection is up 83.6 percent for corn, up 32.9 percent for sugar beet, 38.2 percent for sunflower and 58.6 percent for soybean. Yield projection for corn it is 6.5 million tons, for sugar beet it is 3 million tons, for sunflower it is 505,753 tons and for soybean, 445,006 tons, according to the RSZ release. The final data on the of early crops and early fruit yields in 2013 will be known in mid-September and the September 1 yield projections for major late crops, fruits and grapes will be the released in late September.
