The graduate of the prestigious American university Yale, born in Nis, Lazar Krstic (29), could be the future Serbian Minister of Finance. As Sunday’s Vecernje novosti wrote, Krstic is currently employed in the consultant firm McKinsey and lives in New York, while having a brilliant resume. He was admitted to Yale after finishing high school and received the scholarship in the USA for the tuition which annually cost USD 42,500. Then he started his career in the consulting firm McKinsey, Vecernje novosti stated. At Yale, he was one of the founders of the Society of European students, and he was admitted into the fellowship Kappa Delta Epsilon, whose members were also the American Presidents – son and father George Bush. Beside them, Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton received their education there. Krstic is also a member of Serbian Mensa, which gathers people of above-average intelligence. In an interview in 2006 he was saying he would gladly return to Serbia, even for a much lower salary than in America. He was saying that he would rather work for EUR 6,000 in Serbia than for 60,000 in America. However, that year exactly he wanted to volunteer in the Government, but nobody answered his offer then, the portal of the paper Blic reported on Sunday. Krstic then said that bureaucracy of the Serbian Government was ignoring students abroad and was not answering their emails at all. «Together with a group of colleagues from Yale, for example, I sent a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Serbian Government, in which we were asking for a permission not to do some big tasks, but anything, deliver mail or photocopy different papers. By keeping quiet our Government and this ministry refused such an offer», Krstic said in 2006. He was especially resentful because the Government revoked his Serbian scholarship then, as he had received the American one. VIP
