BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic has signed a decree awarding the Second Class Order of Sretenje to the public company Official Gazette (Sluzbeni Glasnik). The publication was recognized for "special merits in the publishing of laws and regulations and on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its first issue, it was stated on Friday. President Nikolic decorates Official Gazette The publication was originally known as Novine Serbske (the Serb Newspaper) and was first printed in Vienna on August 13, 1813. The news on the fourth page of the first issue informed about the fighting between Serbs and Turks was "the first notice about the modern state of Serbia in a Serb newspaper," said a statement issued by the Serbian president's press service. Novine Serbske changed its name as the changes in the country took place and introduced a system of publishing the most important legal regulations in Serbia. Aside for its basic purpose of publishing laws, regulations and other general acts, the company Official Gazette is also Serbia's leader in printing technical and theoretical literature by eminent domestic and foreign authors and educational institutions, the statement said. The Official Gazette has been in the news lately after a worker in the printing shop of this company stole high school exams, which led to the annulment of all exams. Zoran Popovic was appointed to the duty of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary i.e. head of the Serbian mission to the CoE. Branko Brankovic was appointed to the post of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Romania and Pero Jankovc in Austria. New ambassadors appointed

President Tomislav Nikolić has appointed new Serbian ambassadors to the Council of Europe (CoE) in Strasbourg, Romania and Austria.
