BELGRADE Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have agreed they will no longer import cigarettes and other products from Croatia under preferential terms. This was announced by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic and Bosnian Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarovic, the Beta news agency is reporting. No preferential treatment for Croatian cigarette imports Ljajic and Sarovic agreed that the EU's proposal to adjust its Stabilization and Association Agreement with both countries, due to Croatia's exit from the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) after it gained membership in the EU was not acceptable either to Serbia or Bosnia, the Serbian government said in a statement. This specifically means that Serbia no longer agrees to cigarette imports from Croatia under preferential terms, while the same applies to the import of a large number of Croatian products into Bosnia, according to the statement. Both ministers said they intended to stick to their guns concerning this question and that they would convey their views to the relevant authorities in the EU, while coordinating questions having to do with adjustments of Serbia's and Bosnia's SAAs with the EU, as well as that the two countries would act to jointly protect their economic interests in their relations with the EU.
