BELGRADE Three persons have been seriously injured in a traffic accident near Mihajlovac, eastern Serbia, when a bus carrying 19 Czech tourists collided with a truck. The accident happened at 01:30 CET on Monday when the Czech-license plates bus, traveling on the Belgrade-Nis highway on its way back from Greece, crashed into the truck. The police on Monday arrested the driver of the truck, 44-year-old Senad K., a native of Novi Pazar. He is charged with committing a grave act against traffic safety, and with failing to offer assistance to those injured. Namely, the truck's driver left the scene after the crash, to return only later. According to reports, the truck, loaded with logs, was most likely driving "with insufficient speed" as it was exiting the emergency lane, and did not signal that it was about to join the highway traffic, when the bus collided with it.
