BELGRADE The Belgium-based retailer Delhaize has sold its retail chains Maxi and Tempo in Montenegro "after receiving an attractive offer." But this does not mean that the group will be withdrawing from Southeast Europe, Beta news agency said it learned from the company. Delhaize "not withdrawing from SE Europe" "The company will remain in the region and will focus more on becoming a leader in the countries where it operates," according to Delhaize. "In Delhaize Serbia we are committed to additionally boosting the existing strength of our brands and maintaining a leadership position," the company said. In Serbia, Delhaize has around 360 retail shops, while the Belgium-based Delhaize Group is present in nine countries on three continents. The group added that for the time being it was not planning to sell "operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina," where it was focused on increasing profitability. Beta
