Assembly in Priština adopts amnesty bill
The Kosovo assembly in Priština on Thursday adopted an amnesty law with 90 votes in favor, 17 against, and one abstained.

PRISTINA The Kosovo assembly in Pristina on Thursday adopted an amnesty law with 90 votes in favor, 17 against, and one abstained. Earlier in the day, reports said that representatives of all clubs in the assembly, except for the Self-Determination Movement, adopted in principle the amnesty bill. Assembly in Pristina adopts amnesty bill The bill was proposed by Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Hajredin Kuci on the behalf of the government, who underlined that the new draft includes the requests of the assembly members to delete Article 3. The president of the Legislative Committee and MP of the Democratic Union of Kosovo (DSK), Arben Gasi, confirmed that the requests by legislators have been taken into consideration and that on the behalf of the Commission he called for the bill to be adopted in principle. Visar Imeri, head of the Self-Determination group and other members of the movement are against the adoption of the bill as they believe that the bill "harms Kosovo and grants amnesty to criminals." The adoption in principle and final adoption, which is expected during the afternoon, needs a two-third majority that is at least 80 votes out of a total of 120 members of the Kosovo assembly. In front of the building of the Kosovo assembly on a call of the Group of Organized Citizens, which comprises representatives of NGOs, around a hundred citizens staged a peaceful protest against the adoption of the amnesty bill.
