BELGRADE EU High Representative Catherine Ashton will on Monday meet with top Serbian officials discuss agreements reached with Pristina and Serbia's EU progress. As stated by the European Commission, Ashton will be in Belgrade for meetings with President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. Ashton will on Wednesday visit Pristina where she will meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and President Atifete Jahjaga. The trip comes a day after the 13th round of dialogue on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels, where according to Dacic and Thaci, progress had been made on the issues of telecommunications and energy. Ashton said last night that draft documents on energy and telecommunicationswere close to finalization, and the talks will continue during her upcoming visit to Belgrade and Pristina. Dacic said that the Pristina side "promised to adopt the essential amnesty law at the end of the week." "It is a prerequisite for the application of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina on the normalization of relations," Dacic told reporters in Brussels. Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Deger said yesterday that Ashton was coming to Belgrade to give encouragement to the authorities in Serbia and to reaffirm the European course of the country. Ashton will on Wednesday visit Priština where she will meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and President Atifete Jahjaga.

The trip comes a day after the 13th round of dialogue on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Priština in Brussels, where according to Dačić and Thaci, progress had been made on the issues of telecommunications and energy.
