PRIJEPOLJE "Results are what is holding the coalition government together and they will be the chief criterion for choosing who remains in it," says Ivica Dacic. PM sees "new momentum" in his cabinet's reshuffle The prime minister also stressed that a reshuffle "should provide new momentum to the government." "A cabinet reshuffle should be a change for the better and give new momentum so the government could achieve its goals, he stated on Wednesday. The goals are to hold the first intergovernmental conference on the accession talks with the EU by the end of January, to stop Serbia’s economy from lagging further behind and to create a stable political system, he explained. The leaders of the government coalition member parties have not discussed the reshuffle yet, he noted. The outcome of the reshuffle will be known by July 27 at the latest, the first anniversary of the cabinet’s formation, he said, adding that his party, the Socialist Party of Serbia, "would not avoid responsibility." Dacic remarked that Deputy Prime Minister and Serbian Progressive Party leader Aleksandar Vucic and he believed the reshuffle should be an incentive to do a better job, adding that they would talk openly about what to do to achieve that. The prime minister attended in Prijepolje on Wednesday the opening of the 50th inter-municipal youth sports games that include athletes from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina. (Tanjug, file) "SNS message to partners - changes or elections" The Serb Progressive Party (SNS), the leading party of the government coalition, will demand that its coalition partners replace at least one minister during the cabinet reshuffle or there will be a call for an early election, after which the SNS would form the government with just one smaller partner, the daily newspaper Danas has reported. The reason for that is that SNS leader and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic is not happy with the fact that the Socialist Party of Serbia has the prime minister position, even though it has three times less support among the population, and that the United Regions of Serbia, a party that has less than 5 percent support among the voters, controls the country’s finances and economy, the paper said. The reshuffle will be completed by July 27, and the changes will be large, thorough and comprehensive as far as the people from the SNS are concerned, Vucic told a news conference on Tuesday, adding that he would demand the same kind of responsibility from his coalition partners.
