ZAGREB President Tomislav Nikolic arrived in Zagreb on Sunday afternoon, where he headed Serbia's state delegation at a central celebration of Croatia joining the EU. Before attending the ceremonies, Nikolic met with representatives of Serbs in Croatia - members of the Croatian parliament and leaders of Serb institutions and organizations in the country, and also with Czech President Milos Zeman. President meets with Serb representatives, Czech counterpart Milorad Pupovac, the president of the Serb National Council and an MP in the Croatian parliament, said that the topics included the issue of Serb refugees and their rights to housing and pension, the missing persons issue and the continuation of war crime trials. The realization of an agreement on the protection of minorities in Croatia and Serbia was a special topic, particularly the rights to cultural autonomy, education in the minority language and alphabet and the right to a peaceful life. "President Nikolic showed great interest in all issues and their intensive solving in the scope of Croatia-Serbia relations," Pupovac said, Croatian media report. Pupovac qualified the visit of President Nikolic and Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic as very important. Nikolic and Zeman discussed how to foster the economic cooperation between the two countries, and focused on the possibility to increase investments in Serbia and participation of Czech companies in privatizations. In what was a cordial and friendly conversation, the Czech president offered full support to Serbia in its dialogue with Pristina and the process of its further EU accession, Tanjug reported.
