Decision on upholding charges against Dulić quashed

The Court of Appeal in Belgrade has quashed the decision of the Special Court for Organized Crime upholding the charges against a former minister.

BELGRADE The Court of Appeal in Belgrade has quashed the decision of the Special Court for Organized Crime upholding the charges against a former minister. Oliver Dulic was minister of environmental protection and spatial planning and he and his associates faced corruption charges. Decision on upholding charges against Dulic quashed In a decision late last week, the Special Court was ordered to review the indictment. Dulic and his associates are charged with abuse of office committed in issuing working permits for Nuba Invest company. A statement by the Court of Appeal says that first instance decision on upholding the charges against Dulic, including the then associate in the ministry Nebojsa Janjic and Director of Putevi Srbije Zoran Drobnjak, was made after a grave violation of the procedure. "The amount of gain which was, according to the expert, stated at the amount of RSD 9,033,688.08, was not determined in a reliable manner, taking into account that neither the parameters on the basis of which this value was determined nor legal acts defining these parameters were shown," the Court of Appeals stated. Therefore the court adopted a defense appeal, quashed the decision and ordered the Special Court to re-examine the charges. Decision on upholding charges against Dulić quashed

In a decision late last week, the Special Court was ordered to review the indictment.

Dulić and his associates are charged with abuse of office committed in issuing working permits for Nuba Invest company.
