Commission marks 12 years since murder of journalist
A commission set up to investigate murders of journalists has issued a statement on the 12th anniversary since the murder of Milan Pantić.

BELGRADE A commission set up to investigate murders of journalists has issued a statement on the 12th anniversary since the murder of Milan Pantic. The commission has gathered and integrated all the documents pertaining to court and police papers that could be of help in resolving the murder of Pantic, the statement, signed by the commission chairman, Veran Matic, said. Commission marks 12 years since murder of journalist Case files are being stored in separate facilities that are being used by the commission. Special work group of the Ministry of the Interior, formed with the aim of offering help in the work of the commission, had afterwards performed analysis of all documents and the investigative measures and actions that had been taken up so far. The activities pertaining to the ballistic expertise of the material traces gathered in 2001 are being performed, by using new advanced scientific method, including DNA analysis. Telekom and Telenor had submitted to the commission telephone traffic for the critical period, and with the assistance of the sophisticated software for data processing, overall analysis of the collected data is being performed, along with linking it with the persons that are known for probably being involved in the Pantic’s murder. With the aim of checking upon some persons that are currently residing abroad, outside of Serbia that could, according to the available findings, possess certain information on the killing of Milan Pantic, the resources of Interpol Belgrade had been engaged, as well as the authorized bodies for offering international legal assistance. Within the work of the special work group of the Ministry of Interior that was performed so far, several unverified operational findings, relevant to this case, had been gathered. Currently, thorough check up of those data and findings is being done, but also the persons whose statements could help in resolving this murder case. On the suggestion of the commission, members of the Security Information Agency are being engaged on resolving the murder of Milan Pantic, apart from the members of the police officers of Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. All the actions taken up so far on the part of the commission and working groups established with the aim of offering help in its work are being taken, along with the constant cooperation with the High Public Prosecution in Jagodina and High Court in Jagodina.
