Two sides stands' converge, no agreement yet

BRUSSELS The meeting of working groups of Belgrade and Pristina on issues connected to energy and telecommunications ended on Friday without an agreement. However, head of the Belgrade team Dejan Pavicevic stated that the two sides managed to bring their stands to a certain convergence. Two sides stands' converge, no agreement yet The round was excellent and it was marked by a constructive approach, Pavicevic told reporters after the four-hour talks with the Pristina team in the building of the European External Action Service in Brussels. He stated that no agreement has been reached despite the constructive approach of the two sides and representative of the European Commission Pierre Mirel who holds office as the director for the Western Balkans in the EC Enlargement Directorate. Pavicevic underscored that it is important that in addition to experts, the talks included competent ministers, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic. The Pristina delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri did not address reporters after the meeting. Not wishing to reveal the details of the Friday talks, Pavicevic said that the Pristina delegation was more realistic in their requests. There are still many topics we need to discuss, Pavicevic said and announced that new rounds of the technical dialogue should follow soon and expressed the belief that the agreement on energy and telecommunications would be reached. It is important that we are on a good path to ensure energy security for Serb communities and remove all problems connected to landline and mobile telephony, in the light of the political agreement which was in a way the driving force in this round, Pavicevic said. The new round of talks on a high political level in the cabinet of the High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will be held on May 21 when Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci should meet once more.
