However, the party does not have the absolute majority. The central election commission announced the results based on 69 percent of votes counted so far. According to this GERB has 31.38 percents, while the Socialists (BSP) received 27.34 percent of the vote. The 240-seat parliament will have only two more parties: the one gathering members of the Turkish ethnic minority, which won 9.15 percent, and the ultra-nationalist Ataka, with 7.6 percent. The conservatives will now attempt to form the next government, but the AFP is reporting they will "likely be isolated" after the leader of the Ataka party ruled out entering their cabinet. If Borisov's party fails, the Socialists will get a chance to form a cabinet. They already said they would seek a broad consensus for an "anti-crisis government made up of technocrats," that could be headed by former Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski. The BBC is reporting that voter turnout "in EU's poorest country" was barely 50 percent while the run-up to the election was marked by voter apathy and claims of fraud.
