JAGODINA The Serbian government is facing a difficult task of trying to persuade northern Kosovo Serbs that the Brussels agreement is the best solution at the moment. This is according to Democratic Party (DS) whip Borislav Stefanovic. “Govt. faces difficult task in Kosovo” “Anything other than that would be a disaster,” he said, adding that the rejection of the agreement would destabilize Serbia’s position necessary for the defense of Kosovo Serbs’ interests. Stefanovic wondered how “will we defend interests of Kosovo Serbs as an isolated country, a country outside European integration with all reserves and faults of the European process?” He told Jagodina-based TV Palma Plus that northern Kosovo Serbs had often been manipulated for partisan reasons, adding that he believed that politicians in northern Kosovo did not know what stance to take. “They are pressured by the government to tell people that this is the best at the moment on one side, and on the other, how can they go and tell people the agreement is alright and to forget what they said before?,” Stefanovic said.
