BELGRADE Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic on Friday congratulated the upcoming Easter holiday to the SPC Patriarch Irinej, clergy, worshippers, and the citizens. Stefanovic said he wished they spent the holiday with their loved ones, "in joy and prosperity": Parliament speaker, officials congratulate Easter "Let the resurrection of Christ give you the strenght to create a society of even higher quality and nurture the moral values, find our way toward repentance, forgiveness, and spiritual transformation. With faith and hope in a better future, Christ is risen!," the message reads. Other officials, including PM Ivica Dacic and his ministers, and Parliament Committee for Human and Minority Rights chairman Meho Omerovic, also congratulated Serbians the holiday. “On behalf of the Serbian government, and in my own name, I wish you to spend the Easter holiday in prosperity and happiness, surrounded by those closest to your heart,” reads the PM's Easter message. May this holiday celebrating life and true values be a guideline for a better and more secure future for all of us in Serbia, the prime minister noted. "I hope that in all our differences we will manage to persist, save each other, and see what is best for all of us,'' Dacic said. Serbia marks Orthodox calendar Easter on May 5 this year.
