Nikolic highlights agribusiness, invites Israelis to invest "I have committed to personally doing everything to turn Serbia into a stable and predictable economic environment, so I invite you to find your place in this space," Nikolic said. "For our part, we will do everything to make you feel good in Serbia and to make sure your investments are safe and successful," said the Serbian president. Nikolic especially highlighted agriculture, "for whose development and advancement Serbia has huge unexploited potential." The economies of the two countries have complementary elements which should be taken advantage of, said Nikolic. "Realization of major projects in road infrastructure, energy, agriculture and tourism is underway. These projects are currently the impetus of our economy and a guarantee of our future development and I invite you to take part," said Nikolic. He said Serbia has something to offer in the area of high technology, and its advantages include a highly educated and qualified workforce, an excellent geographic location, tax incentives, good legislation, and free trade agreements. Nikolic said he believes all conditions have been met for the cooperation between the two countries' businesses to "reflect the high level of understanding and strong bilateral cooperation." Serbia's Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic also spoke with members of the Israeli business community, saying that the most interesting option right now is investing in Serbian agriculture - from primary production to the processing industry. "The Ministry of Agriculture has submitted an initiative for signing a free trade agreement with Israel, with which we would eliminate all customs barriers and enable a better performance in third markets," said Knezevic. "We have started harmonizing regulations in the area of veterinary medicine and phytosanitary certification, with a view to facilitating the trade in food in both directions," said the minister.
