BELGRADE By resigning Aleksandar Vulin demonstrated a responsible approach toward Serbia and the Serbs who are fighting for the survival of Serbia's statehood in Kosovo. This was announced by the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) on Wednesday, after the director of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija said he would step down. DSS praises Vulin for his decision to resign In a release, this opposition party underlined that Vulin is the only government official who resigned over "the shameful agreement" which the Serbian authorities made with Pristina's authorities in Brussels on April 19. The DSS voiced confidence that Serbian citizens appreciate Vulin's resignation as a moral act, underlining that this places even greater responsibility on the government and the Serbian president to hand in their resignations. The party, headed by former prime minister Vojislav Kostunica, urged the authorities to call a referendum in which citizens will decide whether they want this "unworthy" agreement with Albanian separatists in Kosovo.
