BELGRADE The Interior Ministry (MUP) in 2010 paid RSD 22.8mn to the Toncev Gradnja (Toncev Construction) company, owned by Novica Tocev. He is the brother of Ivica Toncev, an adviser to PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic. In 2010, Dacic served as interior minister. The company received the money based on contracts it signed with the MUP. MUP awards company contracts, company donates to IM's party Dacic is also the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), and this party received a donation worth RSD 300,000 from Novica Toncev the same year his company collected on the contracts. One of the contracts, worth some RSD 13.8mn, was to build the premises housing the firefighting department in the town of Zajecar in eastern Serbia. Novica Toncev commented on these revelations to say that "everything has been done according to the law", and that in 2010, his company had revenues of RSD 600mn and turned a RSD 32mn profit, donating RSD 300,000 to the Socialists. He further stressed that his company was in business for 25 years and was "regularly taking part in public tenders." Partisan affiliation and family ties, said Novica Toncev, did not help him win any of the contracts. Further revealing Toncev Gradnja's business data, he said it had revenues of RSD 700mn in 2011, "nearly RSD 519mn of which through public tenders." In 2012, the overall figure was RSD 800mn, RSD 182mn "related to the business done with the state." Dačić is also the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), and this party received a donation worth RSD 300,000 from Novica Tončev the same year his company collected on the contracts.
