BELGRADE Parliament’s Committee on Kosovo Chairman Milovan Drecun says he expects progress in today’s round of talks between Belgrade and Pristina. However, he said that he saw no possibility of it actually happening. Committee chairman expect “progress” in new round of talks “Nothing has been defined regarding what is going to happen on Wednesday, whether Pristina is prepared to compromise and who is going to be in its delegation,” Drecun told reporters. “Belgrade has shown sincere commitment to reaching an agreement and does not want the conflict frozen, while the other side has only obstructed the negotiations,” he added. "It is necessary to first determine if the meeting has a point, because if there is no progress, if it all resembles the events of the eighth round, then I see no reason for a meeting until some progress is achieved through diplomatic channels," he explained. "It is obvious that everyone wants the dialogue to continue, that it is the view of Washington and Brussels, but that in doing it, they are trying to get as many concessions as possible from Serbia," Drecun noted. “Perhaps by calling such a meeting, which will not be prepared well enough, someone wants to be able to say at one point that Serbia is the reason why an agreement cannot be reached, which is not a good way to go,” Drecun concluded.
