BELGRADE EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule will file a report on Serbia's progress in European integration in Strasbourg on Tuesday. The European Parliament (EP) will discuss a draft resolution on Serbia on Wednesday. EU commissioner to submit report on Serbia The report, dealing with Serbia's internal reforms, regional cooperation and efforts to combat corruption and organized crime over the past six months, will be presented by Fule before members of the European Commission collegium in the afternoon, according to a release from Brussels. As Tanjug has learned, the report will include a brief overview of the developments in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which ended with no agreement on the degree of autonomy for a Serb community in northern Kosovo municipalities earlier this month. Fule's report will in general commend the progress made in the dialogue with Pristina so far, as well as the implemented reforms, but will not recommend the start of Serbia's negotiations with the EU, Belgrade's Vecernje Novosti daily writes today. Another Belgrade-based newspaper, Danas, quotes sources close to the EC who said that it was possible that "the finalization of the report of the European Commission could be delayed, in order to leave room for additions to be made to the document if there is further progress in the dialogue." In this case, wrote the daily, Serbia would get a new chance to get a date at the meeting of EU ministers in June. On Wednesday, MEPs will discuss the draft resolution on Serbia, prepared by EP rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin. Kacin's draft resolution, in which the European Council is urged to set a date for the beginning of Serbia's EU accession talks as soon as the conditions are right, has already been adopted by the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs and should be passed without any major amendments made to it. Both reports serve as the overture for April 22, when EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will inform the EU foreign ministers about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in greater detail. After that, the EU ministers will decide whether Serbia has fulfilled the requirements to get a date for the start of accession talks. (Tanjug, file) Danas Tanjug Vecernje novosti
