A statement from her office confirmed the visits to Montenegro, Albania, and Macedonia, and added that "other stops on her tour would be announced later." The media have speculated for several days that Ashton could visit both Belgrade and Pristina. In a written statement, the EU official said that the goal of the tour was to confirm "the European perspective of the countries of the region, encourage reforms and development of good neighborly relations." In Montenegro, Ashton is to meet with PM Milo Djukanovic and FM Igor Luksic, but the EU delegation in Podgorica said there were no plans for a meeting with representatives of the country's opposition parties.
