BELGRADE Hashim Thaci says the Kosovo dialogue "remains the only reasonable option for normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations." In a statement for the Belgrade-based daily Blic, Thaci, who heads the government in Pristina, also voiced his willingness to accept "an invitation for a joint meeting in Brussels which would be issued by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton in the coming days." Thaci says he'll "accept invitation from Brussels" "The failure of the dialogue should not be an option neither for Serbia nor for Kosovo. Therefore, I remain committed and willing to accept any invitation for a joint meeting in Brussels coming from Ashton in the next few days," Thaci was quoted as saying. He added that "Kosovo has so far made many concessions and remained constructive in its efforts to reach an agreement, but that now is Serbia's turn to become pragmatic and creative in its efforts to make an agreement." Thaci added that "both sides have agreed that it is necessary to reach an agreement in order to open a new chapter of peace, tolerance and cooperation between the two states." The Serbian government decided on Monday to reject a solution proposed during the Kosovo talks seek urgent resumption of dialogue with Pristina mediated by the EU. Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said that the government "cannot accept the principles verbally presented to its negotiating team, because they do not guarantee security, survival and human rights protection to Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija." The proposal was made during the April 2 round of the Kosovo dialogue in Brussels. Kosovo's ethnic Albanians more than five years ago unilaterally declared independence.
