NOVI SAD A session of the Vojvodina provincial assembly, scheduled for April 10, has been postponed, Assembly President Istvan Pastor has announced. Assembly members were to debate a proposed declaration on protection of Vojvodina's rights. Provincial assembly postpones session on declaration Pastor said on Monday the decision to postpone the discussion came after consultations with deputy groups of the ruling majority and in agreement with the head of the provincial government, Bojan Pajtic. Pastor added that it was "necessary to calm the tension", and that "the autonomy of Vojvodina must not be the subject of political tit for tat." Provincial assembly postpones session on declaration

Pastor said on Monday the decision to postpone the discussion came after consultations with deputy groups of the ruling majority and in agreement with the head of the provincial government, Bojan Pajtić.

Pastor added that it was "necessary to calm the tension", and that "the autonomy of Vojvodina must not be the subject of political tit for tat."

He announced that ahead of the assembly session, the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Issues would meet in the coming days.
