BELGRADE The government will meet for an emergency session at 05:00 CET on Monday to prepare a response to EU's Catherine Ashton, said First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic. He noted Belgrade still has not informed Brussels of its position on the proposed agreement for Kosovo, and that once its does, it expects to receive a written or oral response. We will not lead a country that is going beside the world, but we will guard Serb interests," Vucic told a news conference at the Serbian government headquarters after his meeting with Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Dusan Markovic. "Now we await the decision of Brussels on the continuation of negotiations. I hope it will be positive. If it is negative, it will be bad for Belgrade, Brussels, and Pristina," he said, and added that "intensive contacts are ongoing with Brussels", while "messages are being exchanged" with Pristina. Vucic also confirmed that the country's top officials will during the day be received by Patriarch Irinej.
