VIENNA European Parliament (EP) Raporteur Ulrike Lunacek has stated that she is hoping that Belgrade and Pristina will reach an agreement. “Otherwise, Serbia’s time frame for the EU accession talks may close,” she said. Time running out for Serbia, EP rapporteur says “It is disappointing that despite (EU High Representative) Catherine Ashton’s efforts there has been no agreement so far,” she told Vienna-based daily Die Presse, noting that “it appears that Serbs have not really decided to have normalization yet”. “I hope, however, that they will decide in the following days,” she said and added that “Serbia’s time frame for the EU accession negotiations will otherwise close”. Die Presse has reported that “crucial hours” are ahead of Serbia and Kosovo because both Belgrade and Pristina need an agreement in order to continue their EU integration. Belgrade-based daily Danas reported on Thursday that Ashton had offered an interim EU administration for northern Kosovo but Die Presse’s sources have denied the information. “We are enabling the two sides to talk. We are not proposing to run northern Kosovo for them,” Ashton’s Spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic told the Austrian daily. Ulrike Lunacek (Beta, file) Tanjug
