BELGRADE Belgrade wishes to reach an agreement with Pristina - but the only offer to Serbia was an offer to capitulate, says Ivica Dacic. In an exclusive interview published late on Thursday on Vecernje Novosti's website, the prime minister noted that "only small corrections of what has been talked about in Brussels are possible," and that there would "essentially" be no further negotiations. Serbia cannot accept capitulation, says Dacic "We cannot sign our capitulation. I told my colleague, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault that the dialogue with Pristina was such that only a wagon was missing where we would sign the capitulation. The negotiations have led to a complete farce," he stated. Dacic once again noted that "it was said that Serbs would be offered a broad autonomy within Kosovo, but that came to nothing, and Serbs are being offered much less than what any French town has." According to him, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton "must enter the procedure" of submitting her report by April 10 - "which practically means that we should declare ourselves on whether we accept or not by then." Asked about the likelihood that an agreement would be reached by then, Dacic said that "it would be good for Serbia and its future" if that happened, and added: "It is important to seize a positive moment for the opening of perspectives. A rejections will bring us nothing in the long-term because, as I said, the next suggestion will certainly be no better. But, on the other hand, in order to accept something, there must be something to accept. At this moment, we are literally not being given a chance to accept something." The Serbian premier went on to explain that "nothing" cannot be accepted: "'Something' could be accepted. If we arrive at 'something', we might accept it. That is why it will be truly very important to think things through well in the coming days. The people should be aware of the gravity of our situation."
