BELGRADE Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and his First Deputy Aleksandar Vucic will discuss a government reshuffle next week, daily Vecernje novosti writes. If Dacic and Vucic agree that changes in the government are necessary, a reshuffle can be done by end of April, the daily has learnt from the ruling coalition. Govt. reshuffle possible in April, daily writes Vucic said earlier that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) would assess the work of its ministers on March 15 and that he would propose a government reshuffle to the prime minister. According to unofficial information, four SNS ministers could be replaced. It is speculated that Vucic is not fully satisfied with the performance of Culture Minister Bratislav Petkovic, Mining Minister Milan Bacevic and Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic. He is also not happy with initial reactions to the aflatox affair by Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic, even though he is aware of the affair's political background. SNS deputy leader Igor Mirovic told Vecernje novosti that his party would carefully assess the results in all ministries. “After that, I expect a political agreement with our partners in the government on goals and range of the reshuffle that I see as an operational change aimed at improving the work and efficiency of the government. If we dismiss some ministers, we will probably start a dialogue with our partners about results of their cabinet members,” he explained. Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) deputy leader Zarko Obradovic says the party is ready to evaluate the work of its ministers if the ruling coalition leaders agree that the reshuffle is necessary. However, he did not want to speculate who could be dismissed. United Regions of Serbia (URS) Spokesman Marko Selakovic reiterated that they had already analyzed the work of their ministers and that they were satisfied with the results. “The state is in such a situation that everybody needs to do their best. In that sense, a government reshuffle is better than early elections,” he noted. A view of the Serbian government headquarters (Tanjug, file) Vecernje novosti
