BELGRADE Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic has said that milk that will be completely safe to consume will be available in stores within a week. He added that all dairy products would undoubtedly be aflatoxin-free. “Aflatoxin-free milk to be on shelves within week” “The Agriculture Ministry continues extraordinary control of cattle feed at farms and factories and analyses of corn from commodity reserves,” Knezevic told reporters. “Test results should be available on Monday and we will then obtain certain substances that should help remove certain toxins, if there are any, from cattle,” the minister explained. He added that the substances would be distributed to farmers along with uncontaminated corn from the commodity reserves. Knezevic reiterated that the importer lobby, which would like the locally produced goods to be replaced with foreign ones with genetically modified organisms, was behind the aflatoxin affair. He added that everyone who had upset the public and caused confusion in the market would answer. Commenting on First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic’s announcement that some ministers from the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) could be dismissed, he said that he did not believe that he was one of them. “The SNS leader and first deputy PM tells me personally if and how satisfied he is with my work. He does not do it through media,” the agriculture minister concluded. Goran Knezevic (Beta, file) Danas Tanjug
