BERLIN, BELGRADE Serbia’s First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday in Berlin that Serbia deserved to get a date for the start of the EU accession talks. He told Bild, Welt, Bild am Sonntag and Welt am Sonntag reporters during his visit to Germany's biggest publishing house Axel Springer Verlag, about his impressions during his stay in Berlin, the messages German officials had sent to Serbia, support for the EU integration process and the possibility of early elections. Serbia deserves EU talks date, deputy PM says “This is the toughest issue for me. There is some pressure inside the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) to hold elections, but the responsibility for the country is greater,” said the SNS leader. Asked whether Serbia asked for an accession talks date, he said: “We want Germany to see Serbia as a reliable partner. If we get the date, it will be great news for Serbia, but we are not going to force anyone to give us something we do not deserve. But I think Serbia does deserve to get the date for its efforts.” After the talks with the reporters, the first deputy PM met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s foreign and security policy advisor Christoph Heusgen, the Serbian government’s Media Office has released. Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Suzana Grubjesic, parliamentary Committee on EU Integration President Milica Delevic and president’s advisor Marko Djuric met with MPs of the ruling Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU) coalition on Thursday morning. Grubjesic, Delevic and Djuric also attended a conference dubbed “The Balkans and European Future- the role of Serbia“ at the Robert Bosch Foundation. According to announcements, Vucic will meet with Croatian Deputy PM Neven Mimica and Montenegrin Foreign Minister Igor Luksic. On Wednesday, the Serbian first deputy prime minister met with German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle. Vucic meets with German reporters (Beta) Tanjug
