Jat Airways and Etihad "already negotiating"

BELGRADE Etihad Airways from the United Arab Emirates is interested in Jat Airways and exchange of business data has already been arranged between the two companies. Tanjug is reporting on Friday that this information came from the Serbian national carrier. Jat Airways and Etihad "already negotiating" They also said that managements of the two companies "are already in contact". Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic said late Thursday that talks are underway with Etihad about a takeover of Jat and expressed his belief that the matter "would definitely be settled this year". Dinkic recalled that Etihad was one of the few airlines to turn a profit last year and noted that creating a joint company would be good because Jat Airways had "good pilots and an excellent geographical location, while Etihad had planes and access to some other markets".
