BRUSSELS The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (EP) on Thursday adopted final versions of resolutions on Serbia and Kosovo. The draft resolution on Serbia, which was presented by EP Rapporteur Jelko Kacin in December, was adopted with 59 votes for and two votes against. Two MEPs abstained from voting. European Parliament adopts resolution on Serbia The document strongly backs the process of Serbia's European integration and calls on the European Council to set a date for the beginning of Serbia’s EU accession talks as soon as possible on condition that Serbia continues reforms and the dialogue with Pristina. The document also calls for an urgent solution to the false asylum seekers issue. In the draft resolution on Kosovo, the EP supported the EC’s stance that signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Kosovo would not prejudge its status.
