BELGRADE Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will start a two-day visit to Azerbaijan on Thursday and sign a declaration on the two countries’ friendship and partnership. A monument to Serbian-American scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla will be unveiled in one of the central parks in Baku and an exhibition “Ivo Andric – a writer and/or diplomat” will be opened. Serbia and Azerbaijan last year signed agreements on economic and technological cooperation and an agreement on a loan to Serbia worth EUR 308mn that will be used for the construction of a part of Corridor 11. The trade between the two countries amounted to around USD 35mn in 2012. Nikolic will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov, the president's press service stated in a release. The Serbian delegation also includes Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic, Deputy Prime Minister and Trade and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic, Serbian Ambassador in Baku Zoran Vajovic, president's advisors Marko Djuric, Predrag Mikic and Jasmina Mitrovic Maric and head of the president's press service Stanislava Pak Stankovic. Serbian president to start two-day visit to Azerbaijan

He will discuss abolishment of visas for the two counties’ citizens with Azerbaijani officials and cooperation in gas supply.

The trade between the two countries amounted to around USD 35mn in 2012.

Nikolić will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov, the president's press service stated in a release.
